About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee multiple mechanical building services projects across the healthcare and education sectors. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and proven experience managing projects from pre-construction through to final handover.

You\’ll be responsible for the successful delivery of projects ranging in value, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, programme, and financial targets while maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical projects across hospitals, schools, and universities
  • Coordinate design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases
  • Work closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure project success
  • Monitor programme progress, labour/resource planning, and cost control
  • Attend regular site and client meetings, providing updates and resolving issues as they arise
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with current health and safety legislation and company procedures
  • Drive quality assurance and ensure all documentation is completed accurately and on time
  • Manage and mentor site supervisors and engineers

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager within the building services industry
  • Strong background in delivering projects in live healthcare and education environments
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
  • Good understanding of HVAC systems, LTHW, CHW, domestic water, ventilation, and controls
  • SMSTS, CSCS and relevant health & safety qualifications
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services (preferred)
  • IT literate – confident using project management and estimating software
