We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Director to join an established MEP Design & Build contractor, delivering high-value commercial fit-out projects across London. This is a senior leadership position for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager / Project Director who can take responsibility for the successful delivery of major projects from pre-construction through to completion.
The Role
- Take overall responsibility for the mechanical delivery of major commercial fit-out projects
- Lead and manage project teams, including Project Managers, Engineers and site teams
- Oversee projects from design and pre-construction through to completion and handover
- Manage project programmes, budgets, procurement and commercial performance
- Work closely with clients, consultants, main contractors and supply chain partners
- Ensure mechanical design is coordinated and delivered in line with project requirements
- Monitor project progress, costs, quality and programme
- Identify and manage project risks, variations and commercial opportunities
- Provide leadership and technical direction to the wider project team
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
About You
- Strong experience within mechanical building services
- Proven background delivering commercial fit-out projects
- Experience working for an MEP / Design & Build contractor
- Previous experience at Project Director, Senior Project Manager, Contracts Manager or similar level
- Experience managing large-value mechanical packages/projects
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness
- Ability to lead teams and manage multiple stakeholders
- Excellent understanding of mechanical services, design coordination and installation
- Strong client-facing and communication skills
