Are you looking for a fresh challenge as a Plant Engineer with a growing, well-established plant hire company? My client is expanding and now seeking a skilled Workshop Plant Engineer who can also provide mobile breakdown cover during field engineer holidays.

The Role

As a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of construction plant equipment to the highest standards, both in the workshop and on site when required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Servicing, diagnosing faults, carrying out PDIs, and completing damage repairs on plant hire equipment
  • Attending breakdowns on construction plant machinery at customer sites when required
  • Routine servicing and maintenance of equipment including Dumpers, Diggers, Telehandlers, Excavators, Rollers (JCB and similar)
  • Accurately completing all PDA and administrative work, including photographs of damage

About You

You will be a reliable, hands-on engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work and being a valuable member of the engineering team.

Ideally, you will have experience with:

  • Heavy plant and plant hire equipment such as dumpers, rollers, excavators, telehandlers
  • Manufacturers including JCB, CAT, Komatsu, Terex, Bomag, Liebherr or similar

You may have previously worked as a Plant Engineer, Plant Fitter, Mobile Plant Fitter, Workshop Plant Fitter, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Heavy Plant Engineer, Mechanic, or Plant Mechanic. An NVQ in Plant Maintenance or equivalent is desirable but not essential. A proven track record in a similar role is a strong advantage.
