Join to apply for the Tools Development Engineer (Metrology) role at Line Up. Our client has an opportunity for a Tools Development Engineer to join them on a contract basis until the end of 2025. This role offers a great opportunity to work within the engineering function supporting the ramp-up at the Broughton plant.

Role Details

  • Location: Broughton, Flintshire - fully onsite
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
  • Clearance: BPSS required to start
  • Hourly Rate: £36.70 via Umbrella, inside IR35

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful industrialization of SA Jigs and Tools Requests and supporting projects, from creation to final acceptance and handover to Operations.
  • Integrate mature industrial technologies aligned with R&D.
  • Collaborate with R&D to incorporate requirements and support Airbus Industrial Vision.
  • Design and specify Jigs and Tools assets based on requirements.
  • Contribute to CDT MFT for production investigations using tooling and metrology skills.

Main Outputs

  • Qualified Jigs and Tools assets.
  • Interpret aircraft design models and support operational implementation.
  • Define certification, re-certification, qualification, and re-qualification processes, features, and schedules.
  • Produce Jigs and Tools Technical Assessments and Acceptance Reports.
  • Develop design and manufacturing data sets for Jigs and Tools.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate from first principles in manufacturing disciplines, making informed business decisions.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering, Design, and Business Information Systems.
  • Experience with aircraft production and engineering methods is ideal.
  • Understanding of interactions across manufacturing and engineering functions.
  • Leadership qualities and self-motivation are desirable.
  • Experience in manufacturing and engineering environments.
  • Metrology skillset.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
