Seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager for a permanent role near Heathrow Airport. This is an engineering overhaul workshop facility. It is a COMAH site with a full complement of office support staff in situ.

You will be responsible for managing, developing and supporting the company's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), ensuring compliance with EHS, ISO 14001 and 45001 standards, and Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH).

Pay: From £55,000+
Location: West London
Hours: Full-time Permanent, Monday - Friday

Job Profile:

  • Implement and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Develop & perform internal audit schedule of the EHS management system to assess conformity with ISO standards and other regulations, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) regulations, including preparing and submitting the Safety Report to the HSE.
  • Ensure compliance with other relevant regulations and engage with agencies such as REACH and the Environment Agency.
  • Provide guidance and support to the business as Subject Matter Experts on EHS topics, including risk assessment, training, and project consultation.
  • Act as the contact point with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and stakeholders during inspections, audits, and inquiries.
  • Investigate EHS incidents, accidents, and non-conformances, and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
  • Develop EHS-related KPIs aligned with business requirements.
  • Ensure the employee EHS committee functions effectively, facilitating discussions and advising representatives.
  • Encourage employee engagement in EHS activities and initiatives to foster a positive safety culture.
  • Participate in EHS summits and working groups to develop procedures and global EHS objectives.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 in a complex, regulated environment, preferably in aviation MRO.
  • Knowledge of COMAH regulations, safety management systems, safety reports, and liaison with authorities.
  • Familiarity with other EHS regulations applicable to a COMAH site.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, resource management, and timely delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven leadership skills to motivate teams and drive change.
  • Willingness to travel for EHS initiatives, meetings, and industry events.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through training and memberships.

Education & Training:

  • Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or relevant field, or equivalent experience.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Recognised auditing qualification in ISO 14001 or 45001 preferred.
