An opportunity has arisen with my client for a Network Engineer to join them on an initial 12-month contract. As the Network Engineer you will join a team who are responsible for the management and support of networks across the UK estate and some international locations.

Role: Network Engineer

Pay: Up to Β£68.75 per hour via Umbrella Company

Location: Stevenage

Contract: 12 Months

Hours: Monday - Friday, 37 hours per week ( 8 hours a day between 07:00 - 19:00)

Security Clearance: DV Clearance to start. UK eyes only project

Responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated support at, but not limited to, the Stevenage site (Bolton and Bristol sites are also in scope), ensuring the effective delivery of DEx Network service in this high-profile environment.
  • Own the remediation of any identified issues and risks, based on submitted reports and any other intelligence.
  • Assist with the support of UK initiatives as part of the DEx Networks team.
  • Build relationships with partners and external suppliers to optimise the service provided and play a substantial role in agreeing service levels to meet business need.
  • Engage with the Security team to develop Security Reporting, risk analysis.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager, and DEx Network Service team, to ensure Network service requirements meet the agreed criteria.
  • Collaborate with the DEx Networks Crypto Network Specialist regarding crypto management and support.

Skillset/experience required:

  • A career background in information technology.
  • Demonstrable crypto experience, and strong knowledge of crypto best practice.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Catalyst Centre, ISE; Cisco best practice and CVDs
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the OSI model.
  • Strong understanding of network communication protocols including, but not limited to HSRP/ VRRP, HTTP/S, OSPF/BGP, SSL, TCP/IP.
  • Experience with Windows Server/AD, Linux, RHEL and VMWare/vSphere.
  • Self-motivated, ambitious and tenacious, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A structured approach to document management.
  • Exposure to SDA principles and deployments.
  • Authentication services.
  • Network cabling fundamentals.
  • Proficient in monitoring technologies such as Nagios, PRTG, Solarwinds.
