The predicted salary is between 22 - 22 £ per hour.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking several Medical Records Assessors to join on an initial 3-month contract from September 2026. As the Medical Records Assessor, you will be analysing and summarising an array of medical documents for new starters to ensure they comply with the medical standards.

Role: Medical Records Assessor

Pay: £21.60 per hour Via Umbrella, inside IR35

Location: Remote

Contract: Monday - Friday 37.5 Hours per week, 3 Month contract

Security Clearance: BPSS required before starting

Start Date: Beginning or late September

An initial 4-week training schedule will be applicable - must be available for 4 weeks full training.

Responsibilities:

  • Critically analysing medical documents including Optometrist Reports, Primary Health Care Records (PHCRs), Laboratory Results, Prior Service Training Records and previous Assessment Centre results.
  • Applying decision-making skills and using clinical judgement when reviewing clinical documents to determine whether potential recruits to join the British Army comply with medical entry standards on a case-by-case basis.
  • Succinctly recording medical condition outcome decisions and providing robust justification for potential recruits on an electronic database.
  • Composing professional and empathetic communications to manage candidates' expectations and inform them of the outcome of their applications.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with all customers, colleagues, Lead Practitioners, Training and Audit Team and other Stakeholders.
  • Escalating complex medical conditions for review with a Lead Practitioner and referring potential recruits for specialist input where appropriate.
  • Engaging with Capita Audit and Quality Assurance processes.
  • Reflecting on cases to develop an understanding of multiple medical clinical conditions and improve the quality of future assessments.
  • Maintaining daily productivity targets, whilst ensuring efficiency, accuracy and high-quality service in line with the Service Level Agreement.

Essential Skills:

  • Full registration with the HCPC or NMC with no restrictions/sanctions against practice nor pending hearings.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience within your clinical field.
  • Ability to work reliably and dependably while adhering to strict productivity targets, commonly referred to within the business as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and consistently producing work of excellent quality - must be evident on CV.
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to collaborate with colleagues, discuss complex medical conditions and communicate clearly via Teams or email.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Competently using IT Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Navigating online databases designed to store potential recruits' medical information.
