The Supply Chain Engineer (Limited Logistic Support Analysis) will support the Product Support & Supply Chain Engineering Multi-Programme Lead, reporting to the Product Support Programme / Functional Manager across multiple programmes.
Location: Gosport/Bristol (Onsite - 3 days a week)
Duration: 12 Months
Clearance: SC Required
Responsibilities:
- Providing the initial response to Supply Chain for immediate technical queries related to the provision and use of parts on aircraft.
- Reviewing Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) following changes to programme baselines and advising Supply Chain of spares changes.
- Reviewing technical documentation to assist in the resolution of alternative solutions to long lead-time spares orders.
- Supporting contingency planning and requirements to transition projects smoothly into sustainment.
- Working closely with the Product Support (LSA and Technical Publications) team to ensure correct changes are made to the aircraft documentation set.
- Working closely with the Product Support Engineers team to resolve initial issues.
- Mentoring Supply Chain team members in the use of technical information.
- Assisting in conducting reviews of Maintenance Task Analysis documentation and vendor data to undertake programme-specific Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
- Working as directed by the Product Support Technical Lead through the Programme Product Support Manager.
Essential Qualifications:
- Previous practical experience of aviation mechanical/avionic systems or synthetic training devices.
- Supply Chain Support Engineering / Product Support related work experience.
- Knowledge or experience of Logistics Support Analysis.
- Essential to be able to obtain UK SC security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
- Understanding of Support Engineering in military environments.
- Supply Chain Engineering or Logistics Support Analysis experience.
- Ability to read and understand aircraft drawing sets.
- Ability to use the aircraft document set, including technical drawings.
- Experience authoring support product documentation.
- Educated to degree level or similar in a relevant engineering subject (desirable but not essential).
- Ability to work with cross-functional business stakeholders to identify optimisation opportunities and enhance supplier contributions to client solutions.
- Ability to liaise with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and platform stakeholders to integrate UK-specific solutions with existing base platform solutions.
- Proven ability to drive first-time quality.
- Experience working with international support standards such as Def Stan 00-600 and ASD/AIA Suite of S-Series ILS Specifications (desirable).
