Our client has an opportunity for an Engineering Specialist Instructor to join them on a permanent basis in Portsmouth. You will be mentoring the next generation of engineers, leveraging your career expertise without the need for prior teaching experience!

Role: Engineering Specialist Instructor

Location: Gosport, Portsmouth - fully onsite

Hours: 37.5 per week - Term Time

Salary: £39,000-£41,000

Clearance: Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at SC level.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering training to groups of up to 24 trainees in: Electrical or Electronic engineering and machine principles
  • Conducting practical lab sessions, demonstrating key principles and supervising trainee experiments
  • Marking and check-marking assessments to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Maintaining and updating training materials with Training Design staff

What we're looking for:

Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

  • You will have at least a Foundation Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline), or an HND/FdSc in Electronic or Electric Engineering or proven teaching/practical experience in Electronic or Electrical Engineering

Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

  • Classroom experience in teaching technical subjects in an adult education environment, Level 4 teaching qualification
  • Experience of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (or equivalent).
