On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Landing Gear Systems Engineer to support the development and modification of aircraft landing gear systems, with a focus on braking and steering systems, requirements, safety, testing and validation, while working closely with engineering teams, suppliers and other key stakeholders.

Role

Systems Engineer

Pay: 30 per hour via Umbrella
Contract: 35 hours per week, 12 months contract
Location: Filton - 60% onsite
IR35: Inside
SC Clearance: BPSS

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design development and modifications of the Braking and Steering System
  • Work with other ATA32 Engineers and signatories along with interfaces such as Systems and Structures, Certification Specialists, Chief Engineers, Procurement and Vendors
  • Support Airbus Commercial ATA32 System activities, including introducing new functionality to systems, ensuring robust cascade of requirements to the system, and lead development of the system to meet the requirements
  • Support phase reviews and Validation and Verification (V&V) activities. This is whilst ensuring activity meets Safety and technical needs, following the appropriate processes and procedures, demonstrating strong requirement adherence and V&V

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Aeronautical or Aerospace Engineering, with experience in Avionics
  • Good knowledge of aircraft systems, with experience in Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems desirable
  • Knowledge of avionics associated with aircraft braking and steering systems would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of aircraft safety processes, regulations and guidelines, including ARP 5150, Part-21A.3, Part-M and CS 25.1309
  • Good knowledge of aircraft systems, particularly Landing Gear and Hydraulic Systems
  • Experience working within the Landing Gear engineering perimeter, including braking and steering systems
  • Knowledge of Particular Risk Analysis (PRA) testing and associated avionics
  • Proven experience leading complex projects and Work Packages, delivering to Time, Cost and Quality
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with experience working in a matrix environment
  • A collaborative, customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively within a small team
  • Autonomous, proactive and rigorous, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to compliance and integrity
