Stores Operative (BBBH18700) Crawley, England

Salary: GBP25000 - GBP28000 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Are you someone who takes pride in doing a job properly?

Are you reliable, organised and someone who can be trusted to see tasks through to completion?

Our established and friendly supply chain client, based in Crawley, is looking for a Stores Operative to join their team on a permanent basis.

You don't need years of warehouse or stores experience to be considered.

What matters most is your attitude, work ethic and genuine interest in building a long-term career in a Stores environment.

We're looking for someone who is dependable, takes responsibility for their work, pays attention to the small details and understands the importance of getting things right.

If you're looking for more than just your next job and want to become a valued, long-term member of a friendly team, we'd love to hear from you!

What will you be doing?

Working as part of a small, friendly team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Picking and packing parts accurately and efficiently.
  • Preparing and despatching packages.
  • Booking goods in and checking deliveries against accompanying paperwork.
  • Ensuring stock and component details are recorded accurately.
  • Driving a Counterbalance forklift (training may be available for the right person).
  • Occasionally delivering goods to local destinations using a company vehicle.
  • Maintaining an organised and tidy stores environment.

What kind of person are we looking for?

Attitude and personal qualities are more important than previous experience.

We're particularly interested in people who are:

  • Reliable and dependable – someone who turns up, gets stuck in and can be counted on.
  • Accountable – takes ownership of their responsibilities and sees tasks through to completion.
  • Accurate and detail-focused – understands that checking part numbers, quantities and paperwork properly matters.
  • Hardworking and proactive – happy to roll up their sleeves and get involved.
  • Organised – takes pride in keeping things in order and working methodically.
  • Committed – genuinely wants a long-term permanent role in Stores, rather than simply looking for any job.
  • Full UK driving licence. Very occasionally you may be required to deliver an urgent package in the south-east of England in the company van.
  • Unrestricted right to live and work in the UK (sponsorship cannot be provided now or in the future).
  • A positive attitude, good work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Genuine interest in working within a Stores / Warehouse environment.

Desirable, but not essential:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or stock control environment.
  • Experience handling components, stock or part numbers, possibly within aviation or engineering.
  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence.

Free onsite company parking.

Due to the number of applications we receive, it's not always possible to contact unsuccessful applicants. Unless you hear from us within 14 days of your application, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
