Aircraft Mechanic - London Luton Airport
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading aviation maintenance organisation for an experienced Aircraft Mechanic to join their team at London Luton Airport.
This is a permanent position within a busy line maintenance environment, working alongside experienced engineers and certifying staff on a modern commercial fleet.
The role works a 5-5-4 shift pattern, with 12-hour day shifts. Night working may occasionally be required depending on operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and non-routine aircraft maintenance tasks using approved maintenance documentation and procedures.
- Work alongside licensed engineers and senior mechanics on allocated aircraft.
- Support defect rectification, scheduled maintenance and day-to-day operational requirements.
- Complete maintenance paperwork accurately and to the required standards.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and human factors.
- Report defects, hazards and significant findings promptly.
- Interpret technical publications and maintenance instructions.
- Work effectively to operational deadlines within a busy line maintenance environment.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area.
Experience & Requirements
- Previous experience working as an Aircraft Mechanic within a busy line maintenance environment is essential.
- Experience on Airbus A320 family aircraft is highly desirable.
- Previous aircraft maintenance and/or modification experience.
- A recognised aircraft engineering apprenticeship or similar technical background would be an advantage.
- Able to work independently and use initiative when required.
- Good understanding of aircraft maintenance procedures.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Good general computer literacy.
- Flexible approach to working hours and operational requirements.
- You must already have the right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
