Our client, an international Aerospace and Defence company, has an opportunity for an Estimating and Pricing Specialist to join their team on a contract for 6 months, with the potential for extension.
Location: Bristol
Hours: Mon - Fri, hybrid 3 days on site.
IR35 status: Inside
Security Clearance: BPSS to start, SC eligible.

The Estimating and Pricing Specialist role will provide functional support to a diverse portfolio of business opportunities and campaigns within the organization. This role will require close partnership with stakeholders, implementing pricing and risk mitigation strategies, enhancing competitive advantages and creating profitable business propositions.
The primary responsibility of the role will be providing integrating, estimating and pricing capacities into a variety of large and complex campaigns. As part of a dynamic and flexible team, the role will further support other areas within the organization: Implementation of functional improvements, opportunities for greater cross-functional collaboration and identifying business benefits.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of complex cost estimates and pricing solutions across the programme lifecycle, ensuring technical requirements are accurately translated into cost-effective solutions.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies, models, and methodologies that support competitive, compliant, and commercially robust proposals.
- Lead and support business proposals by evaluating complex customer requirements, developing pricing approaches, and substantiating estimating assumptions and methodologies.
- Perform and oversee financial, commercial, competitive, and risk analysis, providing strategic recommendations to support pricing decisions.
- Maintain and enhance cost and pricing data, models, rates, and factors to improve pricing accuracy, consistency, and decision-making.
- Provide expert guidance on complex financial and commercial issues, driving innovative approaches to estimating and pricing.
- Support Competitive Cost/Price Assessment (Price to Win) activities to maximise the competitiveness of bids.

- Proven ability to develop, justify, and communicate robust cost estimates and pricing assumptions using incomplete or uncertain information.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, with strong business partnering, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to deliver high-quality outputs while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and coaching capability.
- Proficiency in cost, pricing, and risk analysis tools (e.g., ProPricer, @Risk) with the ability to rapidly learn new systems and technologies.
- Strong understanding of competitive bidding principles and commercial pricing practices.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Educated to degree level, preferably in a mathematical, financial or business-related discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in cost estimating, pricing, or financial analysis, preferably within the defence, aerospace, or related sector.
- Demonstrable experience working in a large, multifaceted organization.
