I am looking for a Bid & Sales Manager to join my fantastic client on a permanent basis. As the Bid & Sales Manager, you will be responsible in managing end-to-end bid processes for new contracts. You will be supporting business growth through strategic bid management, quality documentation, commercial and customer awareness, and proactive risk handling. In addition to leading bids, the role includes direct account management for a select number of key clients.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the bid process using tools such as checklists, templates, and collaborative editing platforms.
- Collaborate across BD, Product Development, and Programme Management to define winning themes and compelling value propositions.
- Maintain opportunity records within the document configuration system (GNC-Go) and CRM.
- Jointly manage live bids throughout the lifecycle-from preparation and approvals to submission.
- Oversee smooth handover of successful bids to project delivery teams, following standard procedures to ensure continuity and clarity.
- Lead pricing approval processes, ensuring timely preparation of pricing briefs and accurate cost sheets aligned with internal authority structures.
- Ensure proposals align with business strategy and present commercial risk appropriately.
- Maintain and improve the model bid library, including templates, proformas, and guidance documents.
- Ensure bid content is consistently high-quality, current, and accessible to the team.
- Over time, develop a strong understanding of the core products and their role in the wider space sector.
Essential Experience
- Degree (Bachelor\’s or Master\’s) in Engineering, Business, or Science.
- Strong commercial acumen and risk awareness or a desire to learn.
- Excellent written communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
- Solid numeracy and analytical skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical input into accessible and persuasive proposal content.
Desirable Experince
- MBA or equivalent commercial qualification.
- Previous experience in business development and/or bid management, ideally within a technical or engineering industry.
- Broad awareness of the global space industry or a similarly technical and regulated sector.
- Background or familiarity with RF antenna systems, space or terrestrial.
- High adaptability in fast-paced or changing environments.
- Strong presentation skills-confident in person, on-screen, or in written materials.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and document management/configuration tools.
- Understanding of ISO 9001 QMS frameworks.
