The Role

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Small Works / Installation Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering small works projects, system upgrades, and new installations to the highest standards of safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, and hand over fire alarm and emergency lighting systems in line with BS 5839-1:2025 and BS 5266 standards.
  • Deliver small works projects, modifications, and system upgrades.
  • Carry out fault-finding, testing, and remedial works.
  • Ensure all work is completed to company and industry compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate job sheets, reports, and handover documentation.
  • Liaise with clients and site contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in fire alarm and emergency lighting installation and small works.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant British Standards (BS 5839-1:2025, BS 5266).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
  • Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., FIA units, ECS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA) desirable.
