An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Plant division for an Apprentice HGV Mechanic. Based at our site in North Hykeham, Lincoln, you will receive excellent on the job training coupled with attending college (Mansfield) for 1 week out of every 8. Due to the location of the college, we require someone who has a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn a skilled trade while earning and gaining hands-on experience working on Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs).
Day to day duties will include:
- Assisting experienced mechanics with vehicle servicing and repairs
- Learning diagnostic and maintenance procedures
- Carrying out inspections and safety checks
- Working with tools, equipment, and workshop systems
- Keeping the workshop clean, safe, and organised
We are looking for someone who has a strong interest in mechanics or vehicles and has completed some form of further education within this field. You will be reliable, punctual and team orientated with a good work ethic and a willingness to learn.
A basic understanding of tools or vehicle maintenance is helpful but not essential. GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English preferred.
Reporting into our Group Apprenticeship Manager, you will receive full training and apprenticeship support. You will have the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications whilst developing your hands-on experience with commercial vehicles.
