Responsibilities
- Ensuring the road worthiness, safekeeping and cleanliness of vehicle allocated.
- Complete daily pre‑use inspection check sheet for the vehicle and any specialised equipment needed as part of daily work.
- Operate special BOC equipment such as a forklift truck or crane for loading and unloading vehicles when necessary.
- Apply defensive driving techniques, knowledge of commercial driving regulations, and roads to ensure the safe transit and delivery of cylinders.
- Deliver approximately 15‑20 gas cylinders per day to customers in the area.
- Use safe cylinder manual handling techniques to deliver/collect cylinders to/from customers.
- Adhere to strict Health & Safety operations.
Qualifications
- Holding an HGV/LGV Cat C licence.
- ADR (Class 2 in packages).
- Driver CPC required.
- Knowledge of defensive driving and driver regulations, including HSA regulations.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
- High level of personal integrity.
- Held LGV entitlement for a minimum of 2 years, for insurance purposes.
