Responsibilities
- You will visually inspect parts to ensure they are correct to the customer's drawing and identify any anomalies.
- Further, you will be responsible for inspecting critical and sensitive aerospace parts.
- Understand the inspection priorities within the department to meet production requirements and targets.
- Ensure the paperwork is correct, confirming the customer drawing and the drawing issue status is correct.
- Ensure process documents (OIS) are to the correct issue and the contract review has been carried out correctly.
- You will review the areas to be coated and calculate the thickness required using the Process Document (PD) and customer drawing.
- Check completed parts to customer drawing, job router and PD requirements.
- When required, raise NCRs (non-conformance reports), inform appropriate departments and raise endorsements on outgoing paperwork.
Qualifications
- You have previous experience in inspection within manufacturing, coating or aerospace industries.
- Must be able to use various pieces of measuring equipment, make mathematical calculations and evolve set ups for measuring purposes.
- Further, you must be able to prioritise work and adapt to the changing production/quality demands when required.
- Ability to withstand pressures typical within a service industry, from other departments is needed in this role.
- Some heavy lifting might be required.
- Good vision and attention to detail are essential.
