Responsibilities

  • You will visually inspect parts to ensure they are correct to the customer's drawing and identify any anomalies.
  • You will be responsible for inspecting critical and sensitive aerospace parts.
  • You must understand the inspection priorities within the department to meet production requirements and targets.
  • You will ensure the paperwork is correct, confirming the customer drawing and the drawing issue status is correct.
  • Ensure process documents (OIS) are to the correct issue and the contract review has been carried out correctly.
  • You will review the areas to be coated and calculate the thickness required using the Process Document (PD) and customer drawing.
  • Check completed parts to customer drawing, job router and PD requirements.
  • When required, raise NCRs (non-conformance reports), inform appropriate departments and raise endorsements on outgoing paperwork.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in inspection within manufacturing, coating or aerospace industries.
  • Must be able to use various pieces of measuring equipment, make mathematical calculations and develop set‑ups for measuring purposes.
  • You must be able to prioritise work and adapt to changing production/quality demands when required.
  • Ability to withstand pressures typical within a service industry, from other departments, is needed in this role.
  • Some heavy lifting might be required.
  • Good vision and attention to detail are essential.
