Responsibilities
- Metallurgically examine coatings on customer components to ascertain cause of failure or to confirm new coating techniques meet the expected requirements.
- Prepare laboratory reports outlining examination details and conclusions.
- Ensure all inspection documentation is complete and accurately recorded on outgoing certification.
- Issue the final certification of conformance prior to dispatch of components.
- Raise non‑conformance reports when required.
- Monitor strip line by means of chemical analysis and analyse coatings using SEM and EDX.
- Prepare and evaluate various hardness samples.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a laboratory within manufacturing, coating or aerospace industries.
- Education to A level or equivalent, science based.
- Analytical and detail oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
- Demonstrable ability to deliver responsibilities in line with safety, quality and productivity targets.
