Mr Who? MrQ - we're an awesome, award winning online casino launched in 2018. We're big on tech, big on performance and most of all - big on fun. Over the years, we have experienced explosive growth - which means we need more rock stars to join our quest for total world domination.
As our Senior Game Artist, you'll be the creative force behind MrQ's in-house casino games - taking them from first concept all the way to shipped product. One day you're building out a full visual world for a new slot theme, the next you're rigging animations or implementing assets in-game. You'll set the bar for visual quality at MrQ, blending real craft with smart use of AI tools to move fast without cutting corners. This is a hands‑on role for someone with genuine taste, a strong point of view, and the skills to back it up.
What You Will Do
- Create and deliver high‑quality 2D game assets, including concept art, characters, environments, symbols, backgrounds, rigging, and animations; experience with 3D asset creation is advantageous.
- Own visual quality and consistency across games, ensuring assets are polished, optimised for performance, and aligned with MrQ brand standards.
- Lead ideation and concept development, producing mood boards, references, and visual explorations to define and evolve artistic style.
- Establish and maintain efficient working processes, taking ownership of planning, scheduling, and pipeline management to ensure art is delivered in an organised and timely manner.
- Implement assets in‑game, working closely with Product Designers, Developers, and Production to ensure technically feasible, cohesive results.
- Apply sound judgement on when to create assets by hand versus when to generate or augment them using AI, balancing craft, quality, speed, and consistency to achieve the best outcome for each task.
- Mentor and support junior artists, providing guidance, feedback, and best practices.
- Support hiring, interviewing, and onboarding of new art team members as needed.
- Explore and propose new tools, techniques, and workflows to improve efficiency and creativity, including automation and using AI to enhance image quality and accelerate asset creation.
- Assist in creating marketing and promotional assets while maintaining visual alignment with in‑game content.
- Contribute to sound design and SFX for games where required (desirable but not essential).
What We're Looking For
- Adobe Creative Suite, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
- Strong experience with Figma.
- Proven experience with Spine 2D animation.
- Practical knowledge of AI tools and workflows, including building and automating production tools, using AI to enhance image quality, and integrating generative AI into the asset pipeline.
- 3D software such as Blender or Cinema 4D (desirable but not essential).
