To bolster our efforts and continue to provide high quality, patient focussed services, we are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join the Castle Ward team, as part of our Adult Inpatient and Urgent care division. We are looking for a doctor who is passionate and committed to the development of the service.
The role is full-time at 10PAs per week, with an additional PA as part of recruitment and retention. We are interested in hearing from anyone who is interested in a flexible working pattern, which could include job share or part time working, however, due to the nature of the role there is limited scope for remote working.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a full range of psychiatric treatments in patients of a 20 bed female ward at the Peter Hodgkinson Centre, Lincoln with approximately 140 admissions per year and 181 referrals.
- To provide clinical leadership to the inpatient facilities. This will consist of leading the multi-disciplinary input to patients at ward rounds, facilitating individual care plans and treatment.
- To liaise with multi-disciplinary teams including the criminal justice services.
- To actively engage in Trust policies, programmes, training, initiatives and strategic reviews.
- To work within national guidance and within professional codes of conduct at all times.
- To share responsibility for clinical audit of services with other consultant colleagues and in this matter, will comply with Royal College requirements.
- To participate in Trust Research Activities.
- To work very closely with the Divisional and Trust Priorities.
- To comply with the requirements of Section 12 (2) of the Mental Health Act 1983 and AC/RC responsibilities.

Qualifications and Eligibility
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practice.
- Included on the GMC Specialist register, or within 6 months of completing.
- Approved Clinician status, or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
- Approved under Section 12(2) or able to achieve within 3 months of completing.
- MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
Desirable
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- Additional clinical qualifications.
