Are you skilled at turning data into clear, meaningful reports using Power BI and Excel? In this role, you will play an important part in helping the Income Team work together to deliver great customer service across LHP. You will ensure we use our data and systems effectively, gather accurate information, keep our data clean and reliable, and make sure our key systems—like our Housing Management System and reporting tools—are used efficiently.
By spotting trends, highlighting risks, and creating useful alerts, you will help the team make better decisions, improve services for customers, and meet both operational and regulatory requirements. A great benefit of this role is the flexibility it offers—you can work wherever you’re most productive, whether that’s at home, in our spacious Grimsby or Boston offices, or another suitable location.
What are we looking for in a Data Systems Officer?
- Technical expertise in report building, Power BI, MS Excel and data analysis
- Strong understanding of database modelling, design, architecture and security
- Ability to manipulate data and produce detailed business intelligence
- Experience working with suppliers and customers to implement new applications or system modules
- Proven problem-solving skills using Excel, data insight and reporting
- Confidence using IT systems to record and retrieve data
- A customer-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of Welfare Reform
What does a typical week look like as a Data Systems Officer?
Because the Data Systems Officer role is completely new to LHP, we’re looking for someone who can think creatively, solve problems independently, and help shape the role from the ground up. It’s a varied and sometimes challenging position, requiring empathy, confident communication and resilience.
Here’s an idea of what a typical week might involve:
- Designing and delivering key performance reports to provide clear, accurate and actionable insights.
- Responding to data queries and producing bespoke reports or analysis for operational and strategic needs.
- Using predictive arrears tools and data models to spot risk patterns early and flag potential issues.
- Working closely with internal teams and external partners to support tenancy sustainability initiatives.
- Acting as the Responsible Officer for Income data within the central data warehouse, ensuring datasets integrate correctly for self-service reporting.
- Providing managers with data-driven recommendations that support core business strategies.
- Leading on data integrity and performance matters, promoting best practice and driving insight-led income campaigns.
- Tracking KPIs, analysing performance, and identifying where interventions can be improved.
- Feeding insights back into continuous improvement work to strengthen arrears management processes and predictive tools.
- Collaborating with Income, Tenancy Sustainment, Customer groups and the Performance Team to improve service delivery and reduce avoidable contacts.
- Offering guidance to colleagues on data processes and contributing to the team duty rota.
- Taking part in team meetings and shaping ongoing service development.
