Are you an experienced plasterer? Looking for a role that offers stability while making a real difference in people’s lives? Are you a versatile tradesperson who can address a range of property needs efficiently? At Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP), our vision is to create places to be proud of, and our mission is simple: the basics done well. If you’re passionate about delivering quality work that truly impacts lives, we’d love to hear from you.

You will be joining our dedicated in-house repairs team, responsible for carrying out repairs in our customers' homes. We are seeking a skilled tradesperson with strong plastering expertise and proven experience working in domestic properties.

If you want to do an ‘honest day’s graft’ and be part of a supportive team that values hard work and integrity—this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What will a typical week look like? Working at LHP offers variety, challenge and the chance to make a real difference - but it’s not always easy; you’ll have a fantastic team around you as support and to celebrate your team success.

As a Plastering Operative, you will be responsible for undertaking plastering and associated repairs to our customers’ homes as part of our in-house repairs and empty homes service. Your role will ensure repairs are delivered to our customers in line with our vision and values.

You will ensure all repairs and required inspections are delivered right first time, safely, in line with our repairs policy and within our budget parameters. You will work to our service targets both in terms of service productivity, policy and customer satisfaction.

The role is defined as being mobile under our agile working policy; therefore, you will work from wherever it is required, in our customers' homes or on our estates or schemes. You will be expected to drive for work and use technology to communicate with your manager.

Undertaking inspection, repairs and maintenance works as required to our customers' homes (whether occupied or void) and to our schemes, estates, and other property assets as required as part of the in-house repairs service, safely in accordance with the policies and procedures of LHP and the operational and commercial targets set whilst putting the customer first.

Complying with the repairs appointments that have been made for you and minimising any follow-on works by completing the whole repair right, first time, at the first appointment as well as any other repair that you have the skills, time, and materials to complete. If a follow-on repair is required, you will ensure that unless not possible, the customer is given an appointment for the follow-on works before you leave the property and that this is confirmed in your diary or another engineer's or contractor’s diary as appropriate.

What Skills and Experience will you need?

  • Strong experience in Plastering is essential
  • Experience in other trades is highly desirable, such as bricklaying, tiling, painting and decorating, plumbing, carpentry, glazing, roofing, drainage and external works
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the repairs of domestic properties
  • An awareness of health and safety considerations within a domestic property (i.e. Asbestos, working around customers, working at heights & electrics)
  • The ability to use PDA/iPad and other electronic communication devices
  • The ability to interpret a job description from a handheld device and carry out those tasks in a timely manner
  • The ability to communicate on a regular basis with team leaders and planners to ensure work is carried out and completed to the highest possible standard
  • Must have a full valid, clean driving license
