Multi-skilled Operative (Repairs) in Boston

Salary: £34,809.00 (Plus standby and call out payments)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week (Plus call out rota)

You’ll be joining our dedicated Repairs Team, responsible for carrying out repairs in our customers' homes. We're seeking a skilled tradesperson with strong joinery expertise and proven experience working in domestic properties. What will a typical week look like?

Working at LHP offers variety, challenge and the chance to make a real difference - but it’s not always easy, you’ll have a fantastic team around you as support and to celebrate your team success. A typical week could be as follows:

• You’ll start the day by being responsible for maintaining your van stock and ensure you have the right tools and equipment to work safely, always putting the customer first.
• You’ll respond to reactive repair requests, diagnosing and resolving issues.
• You’ll carry out a range of Joinery repairs in our homes, including replacing doors, skirting boards and architraves, kitchen units, flooring and stair components.
• You’ll remove damaged or loose plaster, patch plastering and repairs to ceilings or walls.
• You’ll ensure all work is completed safely, using appropriate PPE, dust sheets, and overshoes to protect the property and show respect to the customer.
• You’ll carry out dynamic risk assessments on-site and report any unsafe conditions immediately.
• Communicate with the planning team through our housing management system around the status of a job, ensuring records are accurate and customers stay well-informed throughout the process.
• Undertake other repairs involving plastering, brickwork, and other general building tasks as required.
• You’ll be part of our Out of Hours call-out rota for emergency repairs.

What Skills and Experience will you need?

• Strong experience in joinery is essential.
• Experience in plastering.
• Experience in other trades is desirable, such as tiling, painting and decorating, plumbing, carpentry, glazing, drainage and external works.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the repairs of domestic properties.
• An awareness of health and safety considerations within a domestic property (i.e. Asbestos, working around customers, working at heights & electrics).
• The ability to use PDA/iPad and other electronic communication devices.
• The ability to interpret a job description from a handheld device and carry out those tasks in a timely manner.
• The ability to communicate on a regular basis with team leaders and planners to ensure work is carried out and completed to the highest possible standard.
• Must have a full valid, clean driving license.
