Waltham Gateway Academy invites applications for the Wraparound Care: Breakfast Club Lead. This is a fixed-term maternity-cover role for 7.5 hours per week, 190 days, term time, at LGAT 9. The role is for a breakfast club lead with responsibilities in the wraparound care provision and potential to contribute to after-school care.

The academy opened in September 2025 and is expanding to serve up to 210 mainstream pupils from Reception to Year 6, with an RSP to support up to 12 children with identified SEMH needs. The successful candidate will join a new team of leaders, teachers and teaching assistants and will contribute to delivering a high-quality, all-round education within a safe, supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the wraparound care provision, including the Breakfast Club (7:30am to 8:45am, Monday to Friday). Arrive at 7:15am to prepare activities and food for a 7:30am start.
  • Provide breakfast and organise a range of engaging activities for children.
  • Support and maintain high expectations for all students, including those with additional needs.
  • Contribute to the development of a caring, safe and creative learning climate, with a focus on pastoral care and student wellbeing.
  • Potentially lead both morning and afternoon wraparound sessions; if not, be prepared to lead either session as discussed at interview.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience of leading wraparound care or school provision is desirable
  • Ability to work with primary-aged children and support those with diverse needs
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
