About Waltham Gateway Academy: Opened September 2025, the Academy currently has 40 pupils and expects to expand to 210 pupils in Year 6 by September 2026. It also provides a Resource Specialist Provision (RSP) for up to 12 children across North East Lincolnshire with identified Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCO to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum to all children, including those accessing the RSP.
- Support inclusive teaching practices and ensure all students can access the curriculum regardless of additional or special educational needs.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with pupils, using trauma‑informed, relational learning principles.
- Collaborate with staff across the Academy to create a safe and creative learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing CPD and regular supervision as part of the whole‑school relational approach.
Qualifications
- Experience as a teaching assistant, preferably working with children across key stages.
- Strong desire to empower all children to develop skills and confidence.
- High expectations for all students, including those with additional and special educational needs.
- Ability to be creative and adaptable in teaching strategies.
