Librarian / Social Media Assistant

35 hours per week (to be confirmed with the successful candidate)

Fixed term until 31.08.26 due to staffing requirements of the Academy.

Salary: £25,230 pro rata

Actual Salary: £20,411.07 based on 35 hours per week

Main Responsibilities

  1. Support the academy to promote its activities through social media.
  2. Open and manage the library at key times of the day.
  3. Support the whole school literacy policy by conducting phonics interventions.
  4. Plan and provide literacy events and activities in the library.
  5. Create a rich, inclusive literary space for students and staff.
  6. Keep up-to-date records of library stock.
  7. Manage and support a team of sixth form students and volunteers in creating an engaging library environment.
  8. Ensure library stock remains relevant, current, and appealing.
  9. Oversee the library budget.
  10. Collaborate with the SEND department to support struggling readers.
