About the Academy

Waltham Gateway Academy, opening September 2025, will cater for approximately 75 children initially and eventually up to 210 mainstream pupils from Reception to Year 6, along with a Resource Specialist Provision for up to 12 children with identified Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs from across North East Lincolnshire.

Role Overview

We are seeking a 0.5 part‑time KS2 teacher to join our new teaching team. The role will start in September 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver and assess high quality teaching for KS2 pupils, ensuring ambitious expectations for all learners including those with additional and special educational needs.
  • Adapt and innovate across subject areas, integrating core curriculum and wider learning needs; embed literacy (reading, writing) and numeracy within all lessons.
  • Support and develop inclusive practices for the Resource Specialist Provision, facilitating mainstream participation and collaborative learning.
  • Lead across subject areas, personal development and enrichment activities, building strong, trusting relationships and contributing to a safe, relational learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Principal, Assistant Principal, Executive Principal and Trust colleagues to shape the direction and ethos of the new academy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience as a classroom teacher or recent graduate with a dynamic, creative, and inspirational teaching approach.
  • Deep knowledge of core and wider curriculum content for KS2, with a solid understanding of teaching reading, writing, and maths.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs, including those with SEMH, and a practical understanding of the SEND code of practice.
  • Knowledge of trauma awareness and relational learning principles.
