We are working with a well‑established, highly regarded law firm seeking a Family Solicitor to join their growing Family Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and compassionate solicitor to develop their career within a supportive and reputable environment. The successful candidate will join a Legal 500‑recognised team and work closely with a highly experienced Partner, gaining exposure to high‑quality work and excellent mentoring.

The Role

You will manage a varied caseload of privately funded family matters, supporting clients through often complex and sensitive situations. This role offers a strong mix of autonomy and supervision, making it ideal for someone looking to build confidence and expertise in family law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing your own caseload of family law matters from instruction through to conclusion
  • Advising clients on a broad range of issues, including:
    • Divorce and separation
    • Financial remedy proceedings
    • Private children matters (including Child Arrangements Orders)
  • Drafting legal documents, correspondence, and court applications
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case strategies
  • Attending court hearings, client meetings, and negotiations (with support where required)
  • Supporting senior team members on more complex or high‑value cases
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, demonstrating empathy and professionalism
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and procedural requirements
  • Managing deadlines effectively and maintaining accurate case records
  • Contributing to business development activities where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience) in family law
  • Experience handling a range of family matters, including divorce, financial remedy, and children work
  • Ability to manage a caseload independently
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills
  • A client‑focused approach with sensitivity and emotional intelligence
  • A genuine passion for family law and supporting clients through challenging circumstances
