Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) is seeking to recruit enthusiastic, innovative, and forward-thinking Registered Nurses or Midwives to join our Student Health Visitor training programme. Training in Lincolnshire offers a funded route into Health Visiting. You will develop your knowledge and confidence through a balanced programme of academic learning and supervised community practice, working towards autonomous Health Visitor practice within an integrated Children’s Health team.

Funding and salary: Lincolnshire County Council is committed to supporting individuals undertaking Health Visitor training through Council-funded training and development. During the training period, alongside the funding provided by NHS England (NHSE), LCC will pay the appropriate current rate for the Student Health Visitor role, inclusive of any national cost-of-living awards agreed during this time. The salary paid is inclusive of the funding provided by NHSE and an additional element funded by the Council.
About the programme: This training programme will prepare you to work as an autonomous Health Visitor within an integrated skill-mix team. Applicants must have excellent communication skills and, ideally, relevant community experience. Once appointed, you will be expected to apply to Sheffield Hallam University. The SCPHN (Health Visitor) Level 7 course is 50% practice and 50% theory, and you must successfully complete both elements to qualify. The course commences in September. Applicants should be aware that this is a challenging programme and requires commitment to full-time work and full-time study. Placements will be located across Lincolnshire and extensive travel may be required to bases, training venues, and family visits. Wherever possible, team allocation will remain within the same team where training was undertaken; however, in some circumstances this may differ. This will be made clear within any conditional and formal offers.
Post-qualification commitment (if appointed): If appointed to a Children’s Services Health Visitor role following qualification, individuals will be required to remain employed in a Children’s Services Health Visitor role for a minimum of 12 months post-qualification. If an individual leaves employment prior to the end of the above period, a repayment fee will be applied for the element of pay funded by the Council.
