In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and teach KS3/KS4 English effectively and creatively across the age and ability range.
  • Ensure students are assessed in line with department and school policy and to use assessment to inform student learning.
  • Report to parents on student progress as required by school policy.
  • Attend and contribute to English department meetings.
  • Follow departmental schemes of work and where appropriate, contribute to their development.
  • Promote English in the school and contribute to enrichment and extra-curricular activities.
  • Support student learning through regular target setting.
  • To keep up to date with current thinking and new initiatives regarding English Teaching.
