Lincoln Security is seeking an Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer.

Location: Operated out of our Whisby Way, Lincoln Office, which you will have to visit when required. Travelling predominantly in East Midlands and surrounding areas, but further may be required.

£7.55 per hour starting, but could increase based on experience.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5pm

As an Apprentice in the Electronic Security Team you will be:

  • Learning how to install CCTV systems to the current regulations.
  • Learning how to program a CCTV system and ensure it is fully functional.
  • Understanding the concept of I.P systems and how to program them accordingly using a laptop or PC.
  • Learning how to connect CCTV systems remotely so the end user is able to connect via an APP or PC.
  • Learning how to service CCTV systems and make note of readings.
  • Understanding the different types of cameras available and their advantages and disadvantages.
  • Learning how to install HDD (Hard Disc Drives) correctly and format them.
  • Learning the programming of a CCTV system, including using different types of analytics within the system to trigger events.
  • Understanding the different types of connectors used within CCTV Systems and how they are installed correctly.
  • Completing paperwork correctly and ensuring it is handed in on time.
  • Being able to communicate with the office and customers effectively and relay information accordingly.
  • Learning how to design an effective CCTV system.
  • Having the ability to confidently provide a demonstration to customers on how to use their system.
  • Learning how to identify faults and issues with a CCTV system and resolve them.
  • Learning how to install containment correctly and neatly.
  • Learning the fundamentals of Fire Alarm Safety Systems and how effective they can be.
  • Learning how to install Fire Alarm systems to the current regulations.
  • Understanding different types of fire alarm systems and how they can be implemented within a premises.
  • Learning how to test Fire Alarm systems in accordance with the current regulations using the correct tools and testing equipment provided by the company.
  • Learning how to identify faults and occurrences with fire systems and what can be done to prevent/resolve issues.
  • Learning and understanding how to install and terminate devices correctly and efficiently.
  • Learning how to program a Fire system in accordance with the regulations.
  • Being able to communicate with office staff and customers effectively and relay information accordingly.
  • Learning how to install containment correctly and neatly.
  • Understanding different types of products available to use within the Fire Industry.
  • Learning how to connect a Fire Alarm system to a monitoring centre.
  • Learning the basic concept into designing a Fire Alarm system.
  • Learning how to confidently connect into Low Voltage Mains Supply (240v) using safe isolation techniques, with an intensive course before independent task execution.
  • Using ladders safely, requiring ladder training before use.
  • Wearing the correct PPE at all times when required.
  • Achieving a pass on your initial safety passport, vital for carrying out your role safely and granting access to certain sites.
  • Maintaining tools and company vehicles at all times to a high standard.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and organisation around the workplace.
  • Carrying out tasks in the Access Control department and gaining knowledge in Access Control systems.
  • Completing course work assigned by the college, ensuring it is handed in on time and completed to good standards.
  • Any duties required by the office administration team.
