The University of Lincoln is seeking a REF Support Officer to join the Research & Enterprise team and play an important role in supporting preparations for the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2029. Working closely with colleagues across Research & Enterprise and the academic Colleges, the REF Support Officer will provide essential administrative and coordination support across a range of REF-related activities.

The role will help ensure that information is accurate, processes are well organised, and key milestones and deadlines are effectively monitored as the University develops its REF 2029 submission. The successful candidate will support the administration of activities relating to research outputs, impact case studies, and the Strategy, People and Research Environment (SPRE) elements of the submission. They will help maintain records and documentation, organise meetings and workshops, monitor progress against plans, and assist with the preparation of guidance, reports and communications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working collaboratively and managing multiple priorities. The role requires strong administrative and communication skills, the ability to maintain accurate records, and confidence in building effective working relationships with academic and professional services colleagues across the University. You will be joining a supportive team at an exciting time as the University continues its preparations for REF 2029. The role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience of research assessment, research administration, and the coordination of institution-wide projects within a higher education environment.

For informal enquiries about the role, please contact Charlotte Mitchell, REF Coordinator, at ChMitchell@lincoln.ac.uk.

The University encourages applications from underrepresented groups inclusive of Black, Asian and other minoritised/marginalised ethnic groups, all gender identities and expressions from the LGBTQIA+ community, candidates with a disability, and those that practise different faiths and beliefs, to enhance our One Community where we strive to be kind, patient, and supportive of each other.
