We are seeking an accomplished and collaborative academic leader to join Lincoln Business School executive leadership team as Deputy Head of School for Research and Commercialisation.

Working closely with the Head of School, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for research, commercialisation, knowledge exchange, external income and REF readiness. You will translate University and College priorities into effective School-level delivery while promoting an inclusive and ambitious research culture.

You will work with research group, REF, impact and postgraduate research leads, early career researchers, the Doctoral College, business development colleagues and professional services. You will identify opportunities to increase research income, commercial activity and external partnerships, coordinate research groups and themes, and use data and evidence to monitor progress and improve performance, enhance opportunities for postgraduate research students and engage in line management.

The successful candidate will have a first degree, a PhD or equivalent recognised professional standing, and a higher education teaching qualification or recognition. You will bring significant higher education experience and a strong record of leading initiatives that improve research performance, research culture, external engagement or income generation. Experience of postgraduate research supervision or leadership, securing research funding and managing funded projects is also essential.

You will be an academically credible and inclusive leader, able to influence and develop others, manage competing priorities and provide clarity and constructive challenge. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will continue to contribute to teaching, research, scholarship or professional practice within your discipline.
