We are seeking an accomplished academic leader to join the School of Creative Arts and Design executive leadership team as Deputy Head of School for Education and Student Experience. Working closely with the Head of School, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for education, student experience, TEF readiness and student outcomes. You will translate University and College priorities into effective School-level delivery, championing innovation, inclusion and continuous improvement in learning and teaching.

You will work collaboratively with programme and subject leads, senior tutors, module teams, student representatives and professional services. Using data and evidence, you will identify priorities, monitor progress and support the development of programmes, short courses and other educational opportunities. You will also contribute to postgraduate research student experience, staff development, workload planning and the effective deployment of academic capacity, including line management.

The successful candidate will have a first degree, a PhD or equivalent professional standing, and a higher education teaching qualification or recognition. You will bring significant experience of teaching or educational leadership in higher education, together with a strong record of leading initiatives that enhance education, student experience or student outcomes. An inclusive and credible leader, you will be able to influence and develop others, manage competing priorities and provide clarity, direction and constructive challenge.

Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will continue to contribute to teaching, research, scholarship or professional practice within your discipline.
