Lincoln Cornhill is proud to be working with a Charity in the West Midlands who are looking to source an interim Head of Property & Environment for six months. You will be required to work on site two days a week

The appointed candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership for the organisations Property & Environment function, ensuring the safe, compliance and effective management of all locations. The role is accountable for delivering and maintaining a robust compliance and building safety framework, ensuring adherence to all statutory, regulatory and governance requirements.

The range of function which are covered include:

  • To lead the delivery of responsive, planned, preventative and cyclical maintenance services, ensuring all properties and environments are safe and well maintained
  • Lead the development and implementation of the organisations asset management and environmental sustainability strategies
  • Develop and manage strategic supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring high performance, compliance, quality service delivery, and value for money
  • Provide professional input into the Medium-Term Financial Plan (MTFP) and 30-Year Investment Plan through robust long-term asset investment planning
  • Conduct comprehensive asset reviews, option appraisals, and investment recommendations across the property portfolio
  • Act as the organisation’s lead for Building Safety, including chairing the Building Safety Group and ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and associated regulatory requirements.
  • Champion the organisations environmental sustainability, greener village, and carbon reduction ambitions
  • Ensure compliance with all current and emerging statutory, regulatory, and best practice requirements, including those relating to the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH), Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and Environmental legislation

Experience and skills required:

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (such as Building Surveying, Property Management, Construction, Engineering)
  • Significant senior leadership experience within property, asset management, compliance or building safety functions
  • Strong working knowledge of current legislation and regulatory frameworks (Health & Safety at work Act, CDM Regulations, Building Safety Act, Regulatory Standards)
  • Extensive experience of leading responsive repairs, planned maintenance and cyclical investment programmes at scale
  • Proven experience in contractor procurement, contract management and performance monitoring of external suppliers
