Job Description

Lincoln Cornhill are delighted to be partnering with a PE-backed social care provider seeking to appoint a HR Director on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract.

Based in Lincoln with hybrid working (2–3 days from home per week), this full-time role offers a competitive package of c£80,000 per annum, plus a £5,000 car allowance and a range of attractive benefits.

Reporting to the CEO, and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the HR Director will lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s people strategy within the Group Division.

This pivotal role will oversee all HR functions, spanning talent acquisition, employee engagement, learning and development, organisational design, performance management, reward, and compliance, ensuring the organisation attracts, retains, and develops the talent required to achieve its ambitions, while fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.

Core competencies include (but not limited to):

  • Develop and deliver the long-term HR strategy in alignment with organisational objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on all people matters
  • Drive organisational development and change management initiatives
  • Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and wellbeing across the organisation
  • Lead recruitment and retention strategies to secure top talent
  • Oversee workforce and succession planning
  • Implement effective performance management and appraisal systems
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • Maintain a positive employee relations climate through effective communication and fair practices
  • Ensure a consistent and legally compliant handling of employee relations issues
  • Lead employee engagement strategies, acting on insight from surveys and forums
  • Oversee the design and administration of competitive and equitable compensation and benefits programmes
  • Align reward systems with performance, values, and market trends
  • Develop recognition initiatives to enhance motivation and morale
  • Ensure HR policies and practices comply with employment law and regulatory requirements
  • Manage HR risk including safeguarding, grievances, whistleblowing, and investigations
  • Lead internal audits, accreditations, and HR-related governance activities
  • Lead, coach and develop the HR team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement
  • Provide coaching and guidance to senior leaders on managing teams effectively
  • Promote leadership development and succession readiness

About you:

  • Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role (ideally Director level or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and organisational development
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing people strategies
  • Experience leading change and transformation, ideally within a multi-site or high-growth organisation
  • Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Collaborative and confident in working with senior stakeholders
