Lincoln Cornhill is proud to be working with a reputable Housing, Care & Support provider with homes across the West Midlands, who are seeking to appoint an Assistant Director of Care & Support on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will lead the strategic and operational delivery of care and support services, ensuring a safe and high-quality service. You will lead service improvement in a way that upholds regulatory standards and strengthens safeguarding, ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes for residents.

The range of functions which are covered include:

  • Provide strong, visible leadership for the Care and Support directorate and contribute to the wider organisation as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Lead the care and support service to deliver high-quality, person-centred, safe and inclusive services that meet the diverse needs of the organisations residents and communities.
  • Provide strategic leadership and expert advice to the Executive Team, Board and Committees on all aspects of care and support delivery, quality, performance, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.
  • Act as a key advisor on service development, commissioning, regulatory risk and quality assurance, enabling informed decision-making that supports the organisations strategic objectives and values.
  • Actively contribute to the organisations business planning process and the achievement of the organisation’s strategic aims and social purpose.
  • Provide strategic leadership for safeguarding adults and, where applicable, children, ensuring robust policies, practices and governance arrangements are in place.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC), local authority commissioning requirements and safeguarding legislation.

Experience and skills required:

  • Significant senior-level experience within care and support, supported housing, health, social care or a related field.
  • Proven experience of leading regulated services, including CQC inspection processes and safeguarding governance.
  • Substantial experience of managing large service budgets and commissioning or contract management arrangements.
  • Experience of working with Boards, Committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Degree or professional qualification in a relevant field (e.g. social care, health, housing, public services or management).
  • Relevant professional membership (e.g. CIH, Skills for Care, Social Work England or equivalent) is desirable.
