The role of a Teaching Assistant at our school is crucial in supporting our pupils by meeting their learning and pastoral needs.

The 1:1 position will primarily require the successful candidate to work with pupils with Special Educational Needs within our Hive provision.

The Classroom position will require the successful candidate to work across the school.

We have a strong team ethos built upon our six core values and we are looking for a caring professional who can work directly with pupils under the supervision of the class teacher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all staff to achieve high standards of teaching and learning, fostering an environment that promotes creativity, engagement and growth.
  • Support and create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all.
  • Model the highest professional standards to both staff and pupils, setting an example through your visible presence around the school and leading by your actions.
  • Provide supervision and lead activities during break and lunchtimes for pupils.
  • Lead small group teaching and intervention, for example, maths, phonics etc.
  • Collaborate with others to review the impact of actions taken, actively seeking opportunities for improvement and responding accordingly.
  • Play a key role in the effective implementation of the school's safeguarding and equal opportunities policies, ensuring the safety and well‑being of all students.

Fluency Duty

In accordance with Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 (Fluency Duty), the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
