The Role
We at Lincoln Commercial Bodies are looking to expand our team. We are seeking 5 new operatives to join our production and repair departments. The roles are varied and involve the construction of new commercial vehicle bodies (Luton box vans, curtain siders, tippers, dropsides, etc.) as well as repairing accident damaged vehicle bodies.
Key Responsibilities & Skills
- Assembly & Repair: Building new bodies from the chassis up and performing accident repairs to bodies on existing vehicles.
- Technical Skills: Experience in metalwork, woodwork, or electricals is highly advantageous but not essential.
- Tool Use: Confident use of a wide range of air and power tools within safety guidelines. ESSENTIAL is the ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Teamwork: Working within a team of 6–10 people, following instructions from Team Leaders and Management. Must be polite, courteous and compliant to colleagues.
- Initiative: Ability to work independently when required, but with confidence to ask questions when necessary.
Requirements
- Physical Fitness: This is a manual role involving physical labour and working at height and manual lifting of materials.
- Reliability: Excellent attendance, durability and timekeeping are essential for our production schedule.
- Safety: Must be able to follow strict safety guidelines.
- Policy: We operate a random drug testing policy with zero tolerance, resulting in instant dismissal for banned substances.
Benefits & Schedule
- Trial Period: 3-month initial trial.
- Holidays: 20 days per annum + Bank Holidays.
- Perks: Company pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, and regular company events.
- Hours: Monday to Friday 07.30am – 16.30pm, with optional overtime (after the trial period) as the workload requires.
