We are currently recruiting for a full time, Materials Control Planner on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to achieve the timely and adequate supply of materials required for our production plan. You will join a small, experienced team to ensure that all production component requirements are met by working to a forecast alongside a production plan. You will be placing and scheduling orders, coordinating deliveries and reacting to production changes that may require challenging our supply chain to deliver outside of normal lead times. Stock levels will be managed in line with Global guidelines.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Successfully expedite shipment of components to meet production requirements by communicating and building good relationships with our suppliers.
- Managing order books to ensure deliveries are made on time and in full by keeping regular contact with suppliers worldwide by telephone and email.
- Continually analyse component demand and take appropriate action to ensure production and spare parts orders are fulfilled.
- Proactively anticipate and communicate potential component shortages to appropriate colleagues.
- Review and place purchase order requirements via our material requirement planning system (MRP).
- Place and administer works order requirements.
- Day to day component queries, stock adjustments and general administration duties.
- Attend weekly shortage meeting and report risks to production team.
- Support team members as and when required with materials control objectives.
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills are required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external contacts via telephone, email and face to face.
- Must have the ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work proactively and on own initiative to identify and prioritise workload, whilst understanding when to consult or seek advice.
- Accuracy and strong attention to detail with a good level of spoken and written English and numeracy.
- Competent IT skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software as required.
- General administration experience.
Hours of work are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
