About the Role We are looking for a Materials Control Lead to join our Procurement team at Lincat. You will become part of a small, experienced team responsible for ensuring all production component requirements are met by working to forecasts and production plans. The role involves placing and scheduling orders, coordinating deliveries and responding to production changes, which may require challenging suppliers to deliver outside of standard lead times. You will also be responsible for managing stock levels in line with global guidelines while supporting the smooth and efficient running of the supply chain operation. Hours of work This role is based on 37.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. Key Areas of Responsibility: Ensure procedures for all processes are up to date and documented. Complete training program for members of Materials Control. Manage KPI board for Materials Control and supply monthly report to line manager with commentary. Continually challenge existing processes for improvements Proactively chase component shortages through effective communication and building strong relations with suppliers. Manage safety stocks, overdue orders, acknowledgements and proforma and invoice queries. Manage component queries and stock adjustments. Issue instructions for the production of parts, pot kits and other requirements within the factory. Provide weekly stock value reporting Lead the weekly shortage meeting with the Production team. Coordinate daily with the Component Stores and Production departments. Create, amend and issue work orders for production. Arrange carriers to collect our components. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other internal departments and teams to ensure the smooth and efficient running of Materials Control and resolve any issues that may arise. Work with the Procurement Team and key stakeholders to update and improve departmental and company processes and controls. Essential Skills and Knowledge: A good understanding of Component Planning Systems and desirably with a purchasing background Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external contacts via telephone, email, and face-to-face communication. Demonstrate tenacity, drive and motivation, with the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Able to work proactively and on own initiative to identify and prioritise workload, while recognising when to seek advice or support. Strong attention to detail, with a good standard of written and spoken English and numeracy skills. Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software as required.
