We are looking to recruit a Technical Administrator to support key engineering functions at Lincat. The role involves completing and managing engineering documentation, establishing and maintaining a central archive of testing reports, and managing test facilities. There may also be opportunities to support engineering or production in other capacities as required.
Hours of work: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:30.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- New Product Development: Work with project teams to support new product development by documenting and archiving test reports.
- Documentation Control: Work closely with engineering to create, update, organise, and maintain technical documentation. Effective version control and correct storage are essential.
- Documentation Control Development: Support the Technical Director and Engineering Manager in creating, implementing, and maintaining guidelines for documentation storage and control.
- Control of Standards: Work with engineers to carry out gap analysis against relevant standards and support plans to update existing product ranges in line with changes.
- Production Documentation: Collaborate with R&D and Production engineers to produce documentation for shopfloor use as required.
- Test Jigs and Fixtures: Support project engineers with the design and build of appropriate test fixtures.
- Service and Sales Support: Provide customer support when required and assist with technical investigations.
- Gas Surveillance: Maintain and update reports relating to the company's Gas Surveillance activities.
- CE Testing: Support engineers to ensure CE documentation is compiled correctly and kept up to date.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to compile and manage evidence-based technical reports.
- Experience creating, managing, and controlling technical documentation.
- Experience interpreting British and International standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work and move projects forward.
- Goal-focused, with the drive and commitment to deliver results within agreed timescales.
- Resilient and tenacious, able to maintain motivation when facing challenges.
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrates commercial awareness.
- Competency in sheet metal design and 3D modelling using Solid Edge.
- Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes (cutting, folding, welding, jointing).
- Knowledge of electrical appliance heating and control systems.
- Good mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Knowledge of electrical circuit design and electrical components (advantageous).
- Knowledge of gas system design and gas components (advantageous).
- Familiarity with EN 60335 and EN203 electric and gas standards (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
