We have great products, great people, and great customers. The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Stores Operative to join our busy team working within the Components Stores area. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the warehouse, involving a variety of tasks related to receiving, storing, picking, packing and shipping goods. The working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, from 14:30pm to 1:00am. Key Areas of Responsibility: Receiving and Processing Shipments * Unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against invoices and purchase orders. * Report any discrepancies or damaged items to supervisors. * Record receipt of goods using warehouse management systems. Storage and Inventory Management * Safely store products in designated locations within the warehouse. * Organise and maintain inventory, ensuring items are correctly labelled and accessible. * Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile with records. * Manage stock rotation, ensuring older stock is used first to minimise waste Order Picking * Accurately pick items from storage locations according to pick lists or order sheets. * Use handheld scanners or other devices to ensure correct items and quantities are picked. * Verify that picked items match the order specifications (e.g., item code, quantity, and quality). Packing and Preparation * Pack items securely to prevent damage during transit. * Label packages correctly, including shipping labels and any special handling instructions. * Ensure that all necessary documentation accompanies the shipment. Order Fulfilment * Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications. * Ensure accuracy and quality of orders by double-checking contents. * Label and secure packages for delivery. Shipping * Prepare and load products for outbound shipments. Warehouse Maintenance * Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards. * Operate and maintain warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks. * Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Record Keeping * Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipments, and receipts. * Use warehouse management software to track inventory levels and movements. * Generate reports on warehouse activities as required. Essential Knowledge / Skills: * Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred. * Ability to lift and move heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks. * Ensure accuracy in inventory management and order fulfilment. * Ability to maintain an orderly workspace and manage time effectively. * Effective verbal and written communication for coordinating with team members and reporting issues. * Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite. * Certification to operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery
