Linamar Light Metals is recognised as an industry leader in the manufacture, machining and assembly of complex cast aluminium components for the automotive industry worldwide. At Linamar Light Metals Belfast, we work in partnership with our customers (FORD, STELLANTIS, JAGUAR LAND ROVER and GESTAMP) to develop and manufacture automotive components, specialising in cylinder heads, electric drive housings and structural components.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the dimensional adjustment of new tooling and the continuous improvement of production tooling to achieve and maintain a product conforming to customer dimensional specifications.

Candidates must have:

  • an HND in a Mechanical or Manufacturing discipline
  • A level Maths at grade B or above (or equivalent)
  • 2 years experience of an engineering role in a manufacturing environment
  • problem solving skills
  • analytical skills
  • good verbal and written communication skills
  • effective team working skills
  • organisation and time management skills
  • self motivation
  • ability to work on own initiative

While not essential, the following would be beneficial:

  • a degree in a Mechanical or Manufacturing discipline
  • experience of CMM programming on PC-DMIS
  • experience of dimensional analysis
  • experience from a CAD office
  • experience of tooling design/manufacture
  • experience of statistical analysis
