At Linamar Light Metals Belfast, we work in partnership with our customers (FORD, STELLANTIS, JAGUAR LAND ROVER and GESTAMP) to develop and manufacture automotive components, specialising in cylinder heads, electric drive housings and structural components.

The Role: Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the management and maintenance of all on-site facilities. This will include plant services and systems, plus the reduction of operating costs by driving suppliers and improvement projects. The scope will cover plant services, estate management, service contracts, safety, Energy/Environmental/Waste management, data collection and reporting.

Applicants must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Full degree (or equivalent qualification) in a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering discipline OR GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications) plus 5 years experience of working in an engineering role and willing to be trained for a career in the facilities engineering field
  • 1 year experience of working in a Facilities engineering role including experience of: Equipment/Building maintenance, Service contract management OR 5 years experience of working in an engineering role and willing to be trained for a career in the facilities engineering field
  • Good communication & inter-personal skills (verbal & written)
  • Effective team working skills
  • Organisation and time-management skills
  • Self-motivated & able to work on own initiative
  • Good IT and data analysis skills
  • Contract and project management skills

While not essential, the following would be beneficial:

  • Degree (or equivalent qualification) in an energy or environmental discipline
  • Experience of project management
  • Experience of building services
  • Knowledge of Energy/Environmental/Waste management systems
