Linamar Light Metals is recognised as an industry leader in the manufacture, machining and assembly of complex cast aluminium components for the automotive industry worldwide. At Linamar Light Metals Belfast (LLMB), we work in partnership with our customers (FORD, STELLANTIS, JAGUAR LAND ROVER and GESTAMP) to develop and manufacture automotive components, specialising in cylinder heads, electric drive housings and structural components.

Reporting to the Technical Manager in one of the production units in LLMB, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing a relationship with the customer and working proactively with the business unit and support departments to provide a quality product by:

  • Representing the needs of the customer in the department.
  • Analysing internal and external quality data to direct improvement initiatives.
  • Defining quality standards and driving improvement initiatives.
  • Monitoring the manufacturing process compliance.

  • A full engineering degree, preferably with 2:1 grade or above. (Mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, chemical, material science, mechatronic)
  • A minimum of 6 months work experience within an Engineering manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Experience / knowledge of problem-solving methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Strong IT skills.

While not essential it would be advantageous that applicants have the following:

  • Experience from the automotive industry.
  • Experience of working as a quality engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of quality improvement techniques.
