At Linamar Light Metals Belfast, we work in partnership with our customers (FORD, STELLANTIS, JAGUAR LAND ROVER and GESTAMP) to develop and manufacture automotive components, specialising in cylinder heads, electric drive housings and structural components.

We are seeking skilled and motivated Engineers to join our Methods team in the Maintenance Department. Reporting to the Maintenance Methods Manager, the successful candidates will play a key role in providing maintenance systems, tools, and support to drive continuous improvement through lean practices while supporting the wider maintenance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and support a preventative maintenance culture by applying TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability-Centred Maintenance) principles within the assigned area.
  • Assist in integrating maintenance best practices into daily operations to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
  • Support the development, review, and implementation of maintenance methods and work instructions to standardise processes and improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to the improvement of visual management systems for equipment maintenance, ensuring clear communication of asset status and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement sustainable solutions.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have or expect to have attained (by summer 26) a full degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing).
  • 1 year experience of working as an Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of maintenance best practices e.g. TPM and RCM.
  • Experience or knowledge of using process improvement problem-solving techniques.
  • Planning and organising skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

While not essential, it would be advantageous that applicants have the following:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Experience of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs / Controllers.
