About the Role
As a HVAC / Gas multiskilled Engineer, you will be part of our National engineering team, responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a range of commercial and retail sites.
You will ensure HVAC / Gas systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory and client requirements.
- What you will be responsible for within your specified area
- Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
- Carry out PPM tasks in line with
SFG20 , statutory requirements, and contract specifications.
Maintain and service HVAC and gas plant including
- Commercial gas boilers and heaters
- AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, split systems
- Pumps, valves, fans, controls, and associated plant
Ensure all works are completed proactively, efficiently, and to the required standard.
Reactive Maintenance & Fault Finding
Diagnose faults across both HVAC and gas systems, completing repairs within SLA requirements.
Minimise downtime through effective troubleshooting and first‑time fix focus.
Escalate complex issues to the helpdesk or Contract Manager where appropriate.
- Compliance & Health & Safety
- Ensure all gas works are completed in accordance with
Gas Safe regulations and current legislation.
Ensure HVAC works comply with
F‑Gas regulations , manufacturer guidance, and company procedures.
Maintain site logbooks and ensure accurate compliance documentation is completed and uploaded via the CAFM system.
Work strictly in accordance with company H&S policies, RAMS, and statutory requirements.
- Quotations & Remedial Works
- Identify remedial works and produce accurate, commercially sound quotations , including:
- Clear scope and methodology
- Communicate professionally with clients, helpdesk, supervisors, and contract managers.
- Provide clear updates on works completed, defects identified, and follow‑on actions required.
- Asset, Van & Equipment Management
Ensure company assets are stored, maintained, and reported correctly.
Participate in the on‑call rota where applicable.

- NVQ Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration / HVAC (or equivalent) F‑Gas Category 1
- Good electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills
- City & Guilds COCN1 Core Commercial Gas Safety
- CCN1 Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety
- CDGA1 Non‑Domestic Natural Gas & LPG Direct Fired Heating Appliances
- CODNCO1 Changeover Domestic to Non‑Domestic Core
- CIGA1 Non‑Domestic Indirect Gas‑Fired Heating Appliances
- CPA1 Combustion Performance Analysis
- CENWAT Domestic Central Heating/Hot Water Boilers
- ICPN1 Non‑Domestic Pipework & Fittings
- TPCP1 / TPCP1A Testing & Purging
- ACRIB Gold Skills Card (Desirable)
- Understanding of F‑Gas compliance and environmental regulations.
- Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) or Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) (Preferred)
- Experience with larger complex sites, or critical plant systems (e. g. chillers, large AHUs, Boilers).

- HTR1 Domestic Gas Fires & Wall Heaters
- PASMA
Experience
- 25 years experience in commercial gas maintenance.
- Experience within a mobile FM environment desirable.
- Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding capability.
- Proven commercial HVAC / Gas maintenance experience.
- Good electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety.
- ACRIB Gold Skills Card (Desirable).
- Understanding of F‑Gas compliance and environmental regulations.
- Electrical qualification or knowledge.
- Experience working under the SFG20 framework for maintenance schedules.
- Experience with larger complex sites, or critical plant systems (e. g. chillers, large AHUs).
- 5 Years Industry Experience in similar position (Preferred).
- Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) or Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) (Preferred).
- Take part in the on‑call rota.
